AUSTRALIA'S OUTBACK NORTHERN TERRITORY BENEFIT DINNER
wild about wildlife: saving the wilds of pungalina
Wednesday, 21 January 2009
Starlight Roof, Waldorf=Astoria
This Benefit Dinner will be held in partnership with the
Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) in order to raise funds for
Pungalina - a property spanning half a million acres of Australia's spectacular outback.
AWC is working in partnership with the US based
Wildlife Australia Fund Inc (WAFI) to help save Pungalina. Every dollar contributed to WAFI will be matched by anonymous donors in Australia, essentially doubling the fundraising efforts for this magnificent property in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Professor Tim Flannery, internationally acclaimed environmentalist, will present on the night.
The evening will have elements of fine Australian talent, including renowned Indigenous artist and recent ARIA Award winner,
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu and the
Australian String Quartet.
Australian celebrity chef
Peter Evans will craft the menu with fresh produce flown in from Australia and paired with premium Australian wines.
Guests will experience an evening of creativity and theatrical flair, along with their support for Australia’s globally significant biodiversity.
