The 2009 Innovation Day will move from a one day program in New York to a two day program in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Both events will provide an opportunity to showcase Australia's world class innovation and investment potential to the US.

The San Francisco Innovation Day will feature two separate events - the annual Innovation Shootout Competition followed by an Innovation Luncheon involving a distinguished panel of executives from Australian and US companies delivering commercial technology to the marketplace.

INNOVATION SHOOTOUT
At the third Innovation Shootout, to be held in Silicon Valley, six state finalists from Australia will prove to a panel of expert American judges that their company’s cutting edge innovation has what it takes to make it in the US market.

INNOVATION LUNCHEON
The Innovation Luncheon will feature a panel of prominent business executives who will address the benefits and competitive advantages of Australia's world class innovation. Panelists will be drawn from US companies that have major R&D/engineering/ product development facilities in Australia, benefiting from the country's innovative talent and support infrastructure.

Audience: Venture capitalists, trade media and US business executives who have direct responsibilities for leading/managing their company’s efforts in one or more of the following: Research & Development, Product Engineering, Product Development and Business Development.
