After two successful productions (
Mercy Thieves /
The Boys), Outhouse Theatre Company is mounting their third NYC production -- the US premiere of the Australian play
RIDE by Jane Bodie.
RIDE is a charming, darkly comic two-person play, depicting life in the singles lane in contemporary Melbourne. It is a tender and emotionally-complex look at modern intimacy. The play received outstanding reviews during the 2002 International Edinburgh Festival after a sell-out season at Belvoir St Theatre in Sydney.
Jane Bodie has been nominated for The Patrick White Playwright’s Award (2003) and her play, A Single Act, won the 2007 Victoria Premier’s Award for Best Play.
Outhouse Theatre are looking forward to introducing one of Australia's best playwrights to the United States for the first time. The play will be directed by Nick Flint.
Outhouse was formed in 2006 to foster and showcase the work of Australian theatre artists in NYC.
