Aussie Festival with Roadtrip Nation
TUESDAy, 13th January 2009
11:00am - 3:00 pm
Santa Monica College
Marking its second consecutive year, Tourism Australia (TA) will partner with RoadTrip Nation (RTN) to give local Los Angeles students the opportunity to take a moment out from their studies and to consider a different path in life.
The Work and Holiday Visa provides American students with the opportunity to live and work in Australia for 12 months. RoadTrip Nation is a grass roots student movement with its own PBS series which encourages youths to hit the road to discover their calling in life. The Aussie Festival brings RoadTrip Nation together with Tourism Australia, Australian State and Territory Tourism partners, along with educational partners, in promoting Australia as the ultimate ‘gap year’ for American students to work, live, study and vacation.
The event will raise the profile of Australia’s travel options, including the new Working Holiday Visa, while supporting a broader Working Holiday Visa campaign.
This daylong event includes destination displays, prize giveaways, performances by Lior and a BBQ. The iconic RoadTrip Nation green RV will include a plasma screen showing the recent PBS series filmed in Australia.
Audience: Santa Monica College students and alumni plus students from neighboring University of Southern California (USC) and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
Sponsors: RoadTrip Nation, State Tourism Partners, Qantas Airways
