The 2009 Innovation Day is a two day program in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley. Both events will provide an opportunity to showcase Australia's world class innovation and investment potential to the United States.
Companies selected by six Australian States will be provided the opportunity to travel to the US to prove that their cutting edge innovation has what it takes to succeed in the US marketplace.
In Los Angeles, the finalists will participate in the Innovation Fast Pitch where they will pitch their company's innovation to a local audience of angels, venture capitalists & investors. The morning will conclude with a buffet-style lunch and opportunities for one-on-one meetings and networking between investors and finalists.
The finalists will then travel to Silicon Valley for the Innovation Shoot Out. Here they will compete in front of a panel of high profile American judges to prove that their innovation has what it takes to make it in the US marketplace. The event will also provide the opportunity for one-on-one meetings and networking between investors and the finalists.
The Shoot Out is followed by the Innovation Luncheon featuring a panel of prominent business executives who will address the benefits and competitive advantages of Australia's world class innovation. Panelists will be drawn from US companies that have major R&D, engineering and product development facilities in Australia, benefiting from the country's innovative talent and support infrastructure.
