The Gala is held in partnership with the American Australian Association and celebrates Australia Day. This event marks the official close of the 2009 G'Day USA progam.

The event commences with a red carpet arrival and cocktail reception, followed by a unique dinner experience crafted by Australian celebrity chef, Luke Mangan, and post-dinner dancing.

The 2009 Gala will honour BAZ LUHRMANN for his outstanding contributions to the arts, and in particular his most recent film Australia.  Leading man from the film, HUGH JACKMAN, will present the award and join us in celebrating Baz's many achievements.

The Gala will also profile the exceptional work of Australian Surf Lifesavers. Any net proceeds from the Gala will go directly to the Surf Life Saving Foundation for the benefit of Surf Life Saving Australia.
